About Us

Why Spread Harmony Exists

Spread Harmony exists to contribute to a world in which human beings increasingly live with love, compassion, kindness, gratitude, wisdom, integrity and understanding – allowing greater harmony to emerge within ourselves, our relationships, our communities and humanity.

We chose the word Harmony deliberately.

Harmony does not require sameness. It does not require everyone to agree. It does not require difficult truths to be avoided.

It invites us to consider how people with different experiences, perspectives and circumstances may live, relate and work together with greater understanding and respect.

What Spread Harmony Seeks to Do

Spread Harmony seeks to make a useful contribution by providing potentially useful:

  • resources;
  • information;
  • perspectives;
  • skills;
  • connections;
  • support;
  • and opportunities for exploration.

People remain free to decide for themselves what may be useful or appropriate.

Spread Harmony is not purposed to provide all the answers.

Our role is to provide resources and support – not to determine another person’s destination.

How Spread Harmony Approaches Its Purpose

Spread Harmony seeks to remain:

  • purpose-driven rather than personality-driven;
  • free from personal financial-gain objectives;
  • open to truth, including difficult truths;
  • respectful of human agency;
  • accountable for its own actions;
  • open to questioning, learning and refinement;
  • focused on useful action rather than recognition;
  • and comfortable with quiet achievement.

The purpose is primary. The organisation exists to serve that purpose.

Let Us Spread Harmony

Harmony can begin close to us and extend outward.

within ourselves
by bringing greater alignment between our values, words, behaviours and actions;

within our families
through understanding, care, respect and communication;

within our communities
and between different communities;

within our workplaces and organisations
and in the way organisations relate to one another;

within different religions and beliefs
and between people whose beliefs differ;

within countries
and between countries;

and ultimately throughout humanity
our relationship with other sentient beings and the world we share.

Not by imposing harmony upon others, but by helping create conditions in which people can develop and exercise their own capacity for it.

Harmony Can Begin Close to Us

Greater harmony does not always begin with something large.

It can begin with what is within our reach – in ourselves, our relationships and the way we respond to another person.
